Here's the detail that matters. Those men weren't assigned an 11-minute dose by researchers. They were already cold-water swimmers — most of them for two winters or more — who happened to average about 11 minutes of cold water and 57 minutes of sauna per week on their own. The study just measured what they were already doing and reported it in a table (Søberg et al., 2021).

That's a big distinction. Eleven minutes is a description of a habit, not a prescription from a trial. Nobody tested 5 minutes vs 11 vs 20 to find the sweet spot.
